Amid Crackdowns, Nigeria’s Islamic Movement Vows to Expand Medical and Social Services

Abuja, Nigeria – The leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, has reaffirmed that the sole objective of the movement's diverse activities is the sincere salvation and service of society, directly countering the negative narrative pushed by its opponents.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 28th conference of the Islamic Medical Association (ISMA) at his residence in Abuja, Sheikh Zakzaky described the organization's medical outreach as vital, life-saving work that plays an effective role in supporting the people.

One Goal: Serving the People
The IMN leader pointed to the work of the movement's various committees and wings across multiple social sectors, stressing that all such initiatives share a singular, common objective. "All these actions are, in truth, carried out with one goal in mind: attending to the affairs of the community and serving the people," Zakzaky stated.

He asserted that these activities stand as concrete proof of the movement's positive intentions and its genuine commitment to society—a reality, he said, that directly contradicts the image opponents seek to fabricate.

Warning on Drug Abuse as a Weapon
Sheikh Zakzaky also voiced deep concern over the spread of drug abuse and its destructive consequences within society. He warned that enemies are deliberately using narcotics as a tool to corrupt the upbringing of youth and push them toward deviant behavior.

Call to Continue Sincere Service
The cleric concluded by calling for the continuation and expansion of social and medical services to assist the people, emphasizing that such programs must be supported. "Service to society must continue with sincerity and for the sake of God alone," he said.
